The ribbon tapes can be wax-based for the most common applications, wax/resin for greater printing resistance, or resin for industrial applications where high resistance to chemicals, high temperatures and/or rubbing is required.
It should be remembered that wax/resin tapes usually require more coated paper than vellum paper, and pure resin tapes require plastic labels designed specifically for industrial applications.
